René Chayoux was a prominent wine seller of Champagne in the beginning of the 20th century, he became the owner of the Champagne House Ayala-Montebello. From then on, a prestigious heritage was builtup: a vineyard, a great brand deeplyrooted in the Champagne tradition, as well as the purchase of “Château de Mareuil-sur-Ay”.

Throughout his life, he thaught his granddaughter Baïa, his passion for the art and prduction of the Champagne.

So, quite naturally in 1979, Baïa inherited the precious vineyard and during her career she took great care of that heritage and eventually it was taken over by her grandson.

Since 2009, Matthieu Limongi, has been in charge of this heritage which lives on thanks to his passion and pride, being the third generation on this family estate located in Epernay, the heart of the Champagne region. Located in the world’s capital of Champagne, most of the vineyards of René Chayoux are situated on the south hills of Epernay, in the villages of Vinay and Brugny-Vaudancourt; where the soil is favorable for the growth of the Pinot Meunier variety.

The other part of the vineyard is located in the heart of the Vallée de la Marne, mostly in Mardeuil where mainly the Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay varieties are grown. Both Matthieu and his wife Alexandra are attached to the region and commited to sustainable wine-growing as well as offering you exceptional wines.

The René Chayoux Champagne is synonymous with moments of sharing, generosity and quality: it will lead you into a world of pleasure, sweetness and unexpected delicacies.
