Champagne Charles Mignon

Champagne Charles Mignon

A line of wine growers has preceded Bruno and Laurence Mignon, the creative couple of Champagne Charles Mignon. The story is about the transmission from mothers to daughters, from wives to husbands and from fathers to sons, that Champagne Charles Mignon today has the capacity to turn a moment into an unforgettable experience.

With only a last minute booking that morning, we were greeted with great attitude of hospitality. The young lady had a wealth of information which made it so interesting. Love the idea of this Champagne House being a family owned business for generations and so humble of their successes. Was a great first experience to the Champagne Region!

Interesting and tasty
Our host gave an excellent description of the champagne-making process and an enthusiastic description of the characteristics of the wines we tasted. The tasting portions were generous. Separately, we found the staff at very helpful following a mix-up with our initial reservation.

Blind tour and tasting

An ordinary visit..
We came to the house with high expectations and the tour was ok, the guide was GREAT. We decided to have a guided visit with a selection of two different champagnes, which we could choose ourselves. We thought we could select any champagne, but they had a selection of 5 standard champagnes and were a bit disappointed that we couldn't choose from a wider range. Therefore we give this visit 3 stars.

Rondleiding met blinde proeverij
We kregen een uitgebreide privé rondleiding. De uitleg was zeer duidelijk en de gids zeer vriendelijk. Ook bij de blinde proeverij kregen we heel wat uitleg. Zeker een aanrader

Informative tour
We thoroughly enjoyed our tour and tasting at Charles Mignon. Our guide was excellent and clearly explained the process of creating champagne. The film shown at the end was also helpful.

Interesting as the house is fairly new
Charles Mignon is a relativly new house and I was interested to see if they were doing anything different to the more traditional houses, they are trying some new things with different shaped barrels for their grand crus to see if they can alter the taste and some of their processes are very automated which from a technology point of view is interesting, they age their champagnes for a long time too which is nice, the house is very clean as are their cellars, it is walkable from the centre of Epernay which may be handy for some, the champagne was not quite to our taste but peoples tastes are different
