Champagne René Chayoux

René Chayoux was a prominent seller of Champagne in the beginning of the 20th century. He became the owner of Champagne House Ayala-Montebello. From then on, a prestigious heritage was built up: a vineyard, a great brand deeply rooted in the Champagne tradition, as well as the purchase of “Château de Mareuil". 

Throughout his life, he thaught his granddaughter Baïa about his passion for art and the production of Champagne. 

So, quite naturally in 1979, Baïa inherited the precious vineyard and during her career she took great care of this heritage, which was eventually taken over by her grandson.

Since 2009, Matthieu Limongi, has been in charge of this heritage that lives on thanks to his passion and pride, being the 3rd generation on this family estate located in Epernay, the heart of the Champagne region. Located in the world’s capital of Champagne, most of the René Chayoux vineyards are situated on the slopes south of Epernay, in the villages of Vinay and Brugny-Vaudancourt; where the soil is favorable to grow the Pinot Meunier variety.

The other part of the vineyard is located in the heart of the Vallée de la Marne, mainly in Mardeuil where for the most part the Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay varieties are cultivated. Both Matthieu and his wife Alexandra  are commited to the region and to sustainable wine-growing in order to offer you exceptional wines.
